Pastoral Council
The Parish Finance Committee ensures proper financial management of the parish in accordance with Canon Law. The committee advises the Parish Priest on all financial matters including budgets, collections, property management, and diocesan reporting.
Responsibilities
The committee oversees weekly collection counting and banking, Gift Aid processing, contactless donations, bookkeeping, monthly and year-end reporting to the diocese, budget preparation, and audit participation. Members ensure that multiple people operate bank accounts, accurate accounting records are maintained, and annual financial presentations are made to parishioners.
Structure
The committee includes the Parish Priest plus at least three lay members with specific expertise in finance/bookkeeping, property management, and fundraising/Gift Aid oversight. Members serve three-year terms appointed by the Parish Priest.
