Dear Volunteers,

We are delighted to invite you to our community volunteer day at the church where we’ll be undertaking a major landscaping project. The event promises to be both fun and rewarding and would not be possible without your help.

Below are some details about the day to ensure everyone is prepared and knows what to expect:

Date: Saturday, April 13th

Time: 10:00 a.m. to approximately 4:00 p.m.

Activity: We will be laying down compost, setting out hedging, and planting 15 trees.

Your help is needed in the following areas:

  • Digging: using spades, diggers, and those little shovels for smaller holes.
  • Measuring: ensuring correct distances between plants with measuring tapes.
  • Carrying: using buckets and wheelbarrows for moving materials around when needed.
  • Hammering: banging in tree stakes (the most intensive task).

Tools we’ll be needing:

  • Spades
  • Diggers
  • Rakes
  • Wheelbarrows
  • Buckets
  • Measuring tapes
  • Hammers/Mallets

Please note:

  • While family is welcome, due to safety concerns and safeguarding policies, unsupervised children cannot attend. Any participating minors should be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
  • Come dressed for the weather. We will be proceeding rain or shine so rain gear may be needed. If it’s sunny, consider a hat and sun protection.
  • Please bring a packed lunch. We will be providing coffee, tea, and snacks throughout the day. Depending on budget, we may also be able to provide some sandwiches.
  • If you have gardening experience and are willing to help supervise small groups, your expertise would be greatly appreciated.

I will be sending an email to people individually with this link if you have signed up to help!

Let’s come together to make our church more beautiful. We look forward to seeing you all on April 13th!

Warm regards, Sean Brannon
