Please note our Parish will be having celebration after the 11am Mass on Sunday 26th March.

The following letter was received from the Diocese regarding Family Day Mass;

Dear Fathers,

As you may be aware, the 10th World Meeting of Families (WMOF22) is being held in Rome from Wednesday 22nd to Sunday 26th June 2022.   Whilst in previous years many have travelled to join

the global event, this time the format will be held in a “polycentric and widespread” format – not solely in Rome but in our dioceses too.  So we are calling the week Rome@Home, with a specific focus on families for this week. The week will provide a wonderful opportunity to reach out to families post pandemic and involve them in a parish “family event”.  Encouraging families to return to parishes after the pandemic and engaging with our young people were also key themes from the Synod feedback.

There will be a Pastoral Letter from Bishop David for Sunday 19th June to start the week. At the end of the week there will be “Thanksgiving Service for Families” on Sunday 26th June 2022, celebrated by

Bishop David at the Cathedral from 2pm, to be followed by light refreshments and activities for young people in the Cathedral Centre. The Thanksgiving Service will be live streamed and all are welcome to come along in person.

Schools have been invited to ask students to create artwork on “What is family?” and the artwork will be on display at the Cathedral Centre on the 26th June.

Parishes/pastoral areas are invited to participate in Rome@Home in the way that suits their needs.
